Ok finally spoke with his original surgeon...

It’s a waiting game. Likely for a few days.

Preliminary MRI results showed no stones, but he is still waiting on final results. He suspects there was a rogue stone that may have already passed into his intestines before the MRI. (Basically on its way through, got caught in the pancreas and caused the pancreatitis, then moved into the intestines.)

They do not want to do the endoscopic procedure and go “searching” around for it unless absolutely necessary, because the procedure itself can make the pancreatitis worse.

Next steps for now:

• 'rest' his bowel completely to try to reduce inflammation—  zero food (poor effing guy, hasn’t eaten in 24 hours already).

• Test his liver enzymes again in the morning and compare them to today. (They were very elevated today — supposed to be 30…. they were 450!)

Those results, in addition to his symptoms/pain (or lack of) over next couple days, should give them a good idea.

He’s currently pretty comfortable aside from a morphine migraine. He hasn’t had any ‘real’ pain meds in hours, and hanging in. Spirits up since 4am, for sure.

Thanks everyone <3
